Results

Four days after the composting process started, the contents of the digestor was removed and screened to remove some of the remaining large wood chips. Darkened remnants of pig and chicken bones were found along with trace amounts of pig tissue. The moisture level of the screened compost was 51%. The only odor to the compost was of ammonia. We piled the screened compost against a block wall in a 3 feet high pile. The temperature in the pile on Wednesday at 9:30 AM was 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Several bags of finished compost left on Tuesday, February 9th as samples. Other samples were taken March 2nd and 23rd. The samples were sent to AgriEnergy Resources, Princeton, IL for a compost Analysis Report. The results are listed below.
